Simple, Fair Pricing
AfriQuip is free to join and free to browse. You only pay when a deal is successfully concluded as a result of using the platform.
Success Fee
When an item is sold or a deal is concluded through AfriQuip, a success fee applies:
The greater of R50 or 5% of the final transaction value
This fee is payable by the seller.
What counts as a successful transaction?
A transaction is considered successful if:
- A buyer and seller connect via AfriQuip, and
- An item is sold, reserved, or ownership changes hands, and
- The deal resulted from communication or exposure on the platform
This applies regardless of where payment is ultimately made.
What's Included (At No Cost)
While the platform is growing, AfriQuip offers the following at no charge:
- Unlimited browsing of listings and requests
- Posting listings for sale
- Submitting equipment requests
- Messaging buyers and sellers on-platform
- Basic listing visibility
- Randomised featured listings (see below)
Featured Listings (Coming Soon)
As AfriQuip grows and traffic increases, we will introduce paid promotional options, including:
- Featured listings
- Top-of-page placement
- Top-of-category placement
- Featured buyer requests
For now:
- Featured listings are displayed randomly
- No user can pay for priority placement yet
- This ensures fair exposure while the marketplace grows
Once paid promotions are introduced, pricing and terms will be published clearly on this page.

We believe this approach is:
- Fair — you only pay when you get value
- Low-risk — no upfront or subscription fees
- Aligned — AfriQuip only succeeds when you do
Honest Reporting & Fair Use
Users agree to:
- Accurately report when items are sold or deals are concluded
- Not bypass the platform to avoid fees
- Keep communication on-platform where possible
Repeated abuse may result in account review or suspension.
